Deed between William Morgan and his wife Abigal Morgan, Josiah Batchelder, Jr. and his wife Hannah Batchelder, and Samuel Herrick and his wife Bethiah in consideration for the sum of 24 pounds 6 shillings & 8 pence paid by Nathan Leech. The property of 1/3 of an acre was bounded in the north by the property of John Stephens and Thomas Davis, "Easterly by the highway leading to the new wharf and southerly & easterly by land of Robert Hale Esq. Southerly by low water mark, westerly by land of William Haskell. On the second piece of paper is written "Deed of the Land the Mansion House stands on." Beverly C. Carlman in "A History of the Beverly Waterfront from 1630-1966," p. 66 discusses this property. |
