1800 bill of sale for the Schooner Abigail sold by James Kimball of Boston, and Joseph Lord and Ammi Smith of Ipswich on August 7, 1800 to Robert Rantoul (1/4 owner), Silas Stickney (1/4 owner), Zebulon Obear (1/4 owner), Andrew Peabody (1/8 owner) and Ebenezer Smith Junior (1/8 owner). The Abigail was built in Warren Rhode Island in 1789. It was issued a Certification of Registry in Boston (No. 256) on September 19, 1799. Thomas Melville, Surveyor of the District of Boston and Charlestown certified the vessel had one deck, two masts, sixty feet length, nineteen feet one inch breadth, seven feet eight inches depth, seventy four and 4/9 tons, a square sterned schooner, no gallies, and a figure head. The schooner was sold for $1,200.00. At the time of sale the schooner was in Salem and enrolled at the Port of Ipswich. |
