Inside front cover: "This Book Belonging to the Precinct of Salem and Beverly..." This book contains a ledger of funds received and funds paid by the SCC, with particular regard to abatements on various collectors' settlements. Some collectors listed are John Trask, Roger Conant, Jacob Griggs, William Trask, Joseph Trask, Joseph Perkins, and William Dodge. The entries are dated and range from 07/27/1717 to 08/18/1783. The book's pages are laid paper with no watermark. The paper reflects moderate discoloration at the edges, as well as water damage and a tide line on the bottom right corner of the pages. The pages are unnumbered. The book's leather cover is intact, though its sewn-in binding has deteriorated somewhat and several pages at the rear of the book have become detached. The SCC labeled this book as Volume I. |
