Official Commonwealth of Massachusetts letterhead, dated 1866, accouncing the incorporation of the Second Congregational Society in Beverly: "AN ACT: to incorporate the Second Congregational Society in Beverly, and in relation to the Salem and Beverly Precinct." The document notes that the House of Representatives passed the act on 03/26/1866, the Senate passed it on 03/28/1866, and that Joseph A. Pond approved of the act on 03/30/1866. The document was signed by Alex H. Bullock of the Secretary's Department on 04/03/1866. The act was handwritten on a folio sheet of lined wove paper. The seal printed with the Massachusetts letterhead denotes a Native American figure holding a bow and arrow. |
