Scope & Content |
A four page type-written letter written on July 14, 1933, which is a Clarifying Agreement from attorney Henry Cooke of the law firm Bristows, Cooke & Carpmael to United Shoe Machinery Corporation attorney J.H. Connor in regards to a clause in the companies contract. The clause suggests "that, in purchasing, either of the principals to the supplemental agreement could act as agents for its subsidiary and thus obtain goods at cost for it from the other." Cooke believes that "the communication should be made by the British Company and its subsidiaries to, or on the direction of, the Corporation which would decide where such rights are to be excercised by its own subsidiaries and by which subsidiariary." He goes on to say in the letter that he and all of his partners are in agreement with the new clause. |
