A receipt stating that Isaac Thorndike, shoreman, paid Joshua Thorndike, yeoman, fifty-five pounds six shillings eight pence for a parcel of land in Beverly. This piece of land was three acres and one-hundred and eight poles and bordered by the ocean, the heirs of Josiah Thorndike, Nicholas Couril, Joseph Thorndike and Joshua Thorndike. This was written and signed by February 4, 1774. Joshua Thorndike made his mark. This was witnessed by Joseph Rea and Herbert Woodberry. This document was signed by the justice of the peace, Benjamin Jones. |
