A letter from Augustus Lovett to his brother Captain John Lovett advising him on the economic and political issues of sending his ship the Hawk to Guadaloupe. Augustus writes that several Captains who recently arrived in Boston from St. Croix and St. Thomas that the English ships are very active in boarding all trading vessels looking for British deserters. |
