Isaac Parsons was Rufus Anderson Jr.'s maternal grandfather (Hannah Parsons was Rufus Jr's mother). The Isaac referred to by Isaac Parsons in his letter to Rufus' stepmother is probably Rufus Anderson Jr.'s brother Isaac Parsons Anderson, also Isaac Parsons' grandson.
