1884 Mugwump Independent Republican Ticket with Grover Cleveland (a Democrat) on the ballot for President. The Mugwamp (from a Native American word meaning "important person") left the Republican ticket and supported Cleveland because they viewed Blaine, the Republican running for president, as corrupt.
