A color photograph taken by Margaret A. Cameron on November 20, 1994,of the construction of the Veterans Memorial Bridge, also known as The Beverly/Salem Bridge. The construction of the bridge started in the Fall of 1994 and was completed on August 2, 1996. The contracting company hired to build the bridge was Cianbro. 30,000 people showed up at the opening of the bridge on August 2, 1996 and the bridge was open to traffic on August 19, 1996. This photograph depicts the building of the columns of the bridge. |
