Description |
This is a 3/4 front engineer's side view of Eastern Railroad's first #29 "Tiger," a 4-4-0 in circa 1855. This locomotive was built by Souther Locomotive Works in 1854. The cylinders measured 13x20. The Eastern scrapped #29. This photo was taken at the Sewall Street crossing in Marblehead, Massachusetts on the Marblehead Branch. This photo came from the Boston & Maine Railroad's Marketing Department and was complied by Benjamin Thomas. One image is in sepia tone, the second and third photo is grayscale, though the third image is of the highest quality. |
