Description |
A glass plate negative of Civil War veteran Samuel Cutter (1824-1888), born on October 1, 1824 in Boston, Massachusetts who enlisted as a Private in the 8th Regiment of the Massachusetts Volunteer Militia in the United States Army on August 12, 1862 and served in the Civil War until the expiration of his term of service on August 7, 1863. He joined the Grand Army of the Republic, Post 89 on April 22, 1880 and was a G.A.R. member until his death on April 14, 1884 at the age of 59. |
