Description |
This is a 3/4 front engineer's side view of Eastern Railroad second #5 "Marblehead," a 4-2-0, circa 1845. This locomotive was built by Norris of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1841. The cylinders measured 10x20. This locomotive replaced the first #5 "Sagamore". This photo was taken behind the famous Nordic Salem Depot in Salem, Massachusetts. This photo came from the Boston & Maine Railroad's Marketing Department and was complied by Benjamin Thomas. One image is in sepia tone, the second and third photo is grayscale, though the third image is of the highest quality. |
