Description |
Black and white photograph of the underside of the Suncook River Bridge. The bridge was built in 1852 by the Portsmouth and Concord Railroad. It was abandoned by the Suncook Valley railroad in December, 1952. It collapsed in March, 1970 after being set on fire several times over the years. The trestle was located between Allenstown and Pembroke, NH. It was operated by the Porstmouth and Concord Railroad, Concord Railroad, Concord and Montreal Railroad, Boston and Maine Railroad (Suncook Loop), and the Suncook Valley Railroad. |
