Description |
This black and white photograph of Boston & Maine Railroad's #1103, a ElectroMotive Division of General Motors (EMD) SC, is a front head-on view of the locomotive. The paint scheme is all black with the block Boston & Maine heralds on the side. The SCs were primarily used for switching cars at the many yards on the B&M System. This is one of the first diesels that the B&M purchased and was used primarily for switching duties at various railyards on the system. This is an official EMD photo and was taken in LaGrange, Illinois sometime in August of 1936. This is a brand new locomotive and the photograph was taken shortly before delivery to the Boston & Maine Railroad. |
