This black and white photograph of Boston & Maine Railroad's #1211, a ElectroMotive Division of General Motors (EMD) NW2, is a rear view of the locomotive. The paint scheme is all black with the red and white curved strips (not seen in this view) on the front of the locomotive. There are no discernible markings on the rear of the locomotive that indicate what railroad it came from or what number it is. This is an official EMD photo and was taken in LaGrange, Illinois sometime in January of 1949. This is a brand new locomotive and the photograph was taken shortly before delivery to the Boston & Maine Railroad. |
