Description |
Black and White photograph of 345 Hale Street, the Franklin Dexter house built in 1845. George Minot Dexter, a cousin of the owner, designed the house. Warren Prince, a local builder who contracted to build the Dexter house, claimed that this was the first house built on the shore designed and superintended by an architect. The house remained in the Dexter family into the 1940s. This is part of the 1993 Massachusetts Historical Commission's Inventory of Beverly. |
