This is a side view of the Boston & Maine Railroad's #6000, a one of a kind stainless steel, streamlined diesel train set that was to revolutionize passenger service on the B&M and Maine Central. It is seen here in Wakefield Jct., MA ca. 1936. This is the same photo as negative FY-026 except this image has been airbrushed for publicity purposes. The #6000 was a revolutionary and more efficient way of railroading. This black & white photo was found among photographs originally owned by the Boston & Maine Marketing Department. |
