Description |
This is a 3/4 fireman's side view of Eastern Railroad's second #12 "Rough & Ready," a 4-4-0 in circa 1872. This locomotive was built by the Taunton Locomotive Works in 1847. Number 12 was built with 14x18 cylinders and has construction number (C/N) 1. This locomotive was scrapped by the Eastern Railroad. This photograph was taken at the Essex, Massachusetts station. This photo came from the Boston & Maine Railroad's Marketing Department and was complied by Benjamin Thomas. One image is in sepia tone, the second and third photo is grayscale, though the third image is of the highest quality. |
