Description |
A color slide from the Beverly Bicentennial Celebrations in 1975. This was a celebration in honor of the country's bicentennial. The parade followed a ceremony of the bicentennial in which the town's important administrators and their spouses dressed in 18th century colonial American clothing. Depicted here is the Demolay Powder Wagon Trek from New Hampshire to Boston in 1975, in which a wagon trip was made to convey how people traveled in the 18th Century and their methods of transportation. Joe Manzi organized and was in charge of these celebrations. |
