Description |
This is a engineer's side view of Eastern Railroad's #76, a 4-4-0 circa 1873. This locomotive was built by the Eastern Railroad in 1873. The cylinders measured 13x20. The #76 was renumbered to 176 and given the name "Saugus" when the Boston & Maine Railroad leased the Eastern in 1883. Number #76 was scrapped by the B&M in 1894. This print shows #76 without its crew. This photo came from the Boston & Maine Railroad's Marketing Department and was complied by Benjamin Thomas. One image is in sepia tone, the second and third photo is grayscale, though the third image is of the highest quality. |
