This black and white photograph of Boston & Maine Railroad's #6100, a Budd Company RDC1 (Rail Diesel Car), is a 3/4 view of the rail car. There was no paint scheme as it was all in stainless steel. There are no heralds on the ends of the rail car, but it spells out Boston & Maine on the letter board above the windows. This is an official Budd Company photo and was taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania sometime in December of 1951. This is a brand new rail car and the photograph was taken shortly before delivery to the Boston & Maine Railroad. The B&M had the largest fleet of Budd RDC cars in the world. |
