Description |
A black and white photograph of City Home (18 Cedar Street). The main building and a small shed can be seen in the photograph. The "Alms" House was built in 1803 and served as the City Home (Poor Farm) until 1948 when it became the City Infirmary. The basement of the house contained cells for the confinement of disorderly persons. The buildings were left vacant in 1950, burned and eventually were torn down around 1954. |
