Above the Boston and Maine lettering is the number 1568 in yellow numbering against the a maroon background. On the cab, below the window is the B&M's "Minute Man" herald. One front number board with the number 1568 displayed behind glass and is seen angled toward the camera. The Boston & Maine Railroad used the GP7's (GP stood for General Purpose) as road switchers. They were primarily used for long haul frieght service. This is an offical EMD photo and was taken in LaGrange, Illinois sometime in February of 1952.
