This black and white photograph of Boston & Maine Railroad's #1221, a ElectroMotive Division of General Motors (EMD) SW9, is a rear view of the locomotive. The paint scheme is maroon with yellow/gold strips. The initials of B&M are spelled out in yellow/gold at the top of the cab and to the left of the headlight. The number 1221 is spelled out in yellow/gold at the top of the cab and to the right of the headlight. This is an official EMD photo and was taken in LaGrange, Illinois sometime in January of 1952. This is a brand new locomotive and the photograph was taken shortly before delivery to the Boston & Maine Railroad. |
