This 1898 painting by F. C. Yohn entited "Siege of Yorktown" shows General George Washington overseeing artillery fire on horseback, amongst a scene of debris and soldiers.. The oil painting has naturally-depicted colors and its scene takes place during the Siege of Yorktown, Virginia. The painting was commissioned by Henry Cabot Lodge and appears on page 523 of his "Story of the Revolution," published in 1903. Susan Day Parker donated it to Beverly Historical Society and Museum in 1904. |
