Description |
"The Capture of Ticonderoga by Ethan Allen" is a black and white oil on canvas 1898, by F. C. Yohn. Battle scene of Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys' capture of Fort Ticonderoga on Lake Champlain May 10th 1775. "There was little resistance and the sentries, after one or two shots, threw down their arms." In 1898 Henry Cabot Lodge wrote "The Story of the Revolution;" this image is in Volume 2, Page 61. The painting was donated in 1904 by Susan Day Parker. |
