Description |
A watercolor on paper of a bunch of pink Columbine flowers. This species is found in the Rocky Mountains and is the state flower of Colorado. They are known for their very long spurs. There are a few flowers drawn that were never painted. This appears to be a rough draft for a future finished watercolor. This was located in a portfolio which contained the work of Eleanor C. Thomas, a local artist and art teacher. The artist's signature is below the image on the right side. This may have been in a frame because there is a rectangular box around the edge of the paper that has not faded like the rest. |
