Red and cream button created for Hospital Day, which was part of the Sam Sam festival. The pin has a cream background, and written in red at the top is "Hospital Day." At the bottom is "Sam Sam," also in red. In the center is a red cross, and underneath the cross in red is written "Sept 18th, Beverly, Mass." Written on the back, on a paper insert, is "Buttons made by The Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark, N.J., U.S.A. Pat. April 14, 1896, July 21,1896." There is a straight metal pin on the back. |
