1811 insurance policy No. 4366 issued by the Boston Marine Insurance Company for the Schooner Angler, owned by Thomas Stephens, William Leech and Abraham Kilham. The Schooner Angler was insured for $10,000 ($2,500 on the vessel and $7,500 on the cargo). The vessel was valued at a minimum of $4,000. The policy is a printed form, with the particulars handwritten, including a note at the bottom: "The assured are not to abandon in case of capture or restraint, until the property is condemned or until it shall be proved to have been ninety days under detention.
