Letter from William Gray 2nd to Captain Robert Rantoul. Gray, the owner of the Schooner Hope, gives Rantoul directions regarding his schooner's voyage to Surinam. Gray alludes to the dangerous state of the seas with his cautionary words to Rantoul--"should you find the coast infested with Cruisers, gett into some safe Harbor and coast till you hear from me". A short list of trade items is written below Gray's main message. |
