This book attempts to cover the first 200 years of the First Baptist Church in Beverly and the innumerable changes that have taken place in the exercise of this religion. It recognizes the initial "behavioral conformity" followed by a "fairness" awareness (especially women), and novel ways of bringing the Church's message to its congregation. It tells of unity and dissent and tries to be a blueprint for the next 200 years.
