The diary begins in May 1900 and is a continuation of 15641 which begins in March 1900 when the journey began. They returned to US in June and arrived back in Beverly 28 June 1900 after 112 days away.

He is then ordered to "take a freight" for any of the northern European ports and purchase such things as soap, candles and leather and sail again for France. Lovett goes on to suggest other possible ports and items that might be purchased. This includes Russia and the West Indies.
